GAY ALLIANCE FOR YOUTH SUPPORT
exists to provide peer support for mid-Vancouver
Island (British Columbia, Canada) queer youth (gay,
lesbian, bi, transgendered, questioning, or those just in need of information),
their families, and friends.
The first step is probably one of the biggest and more courageous you'll take. You can contact us by e-mail (see our link on the left of the screen) or through Canada Post, or by telepone at 250-951-4683 (and if you're routed to the message centre, please leave a detailed message). We do not have a drop-in at present. Once you connect with us, we'll quickly respond and go at your pace, and assist as we can. You need to feel secure and comfortable if we're going to be of assistance. The world can only get better. We're here to listen and to help as you need. We may not immediately have all the answers you're looking for, but if we don't, we'll find them.
There is an extensive
network of groups all over the Island - from Port Hardy, Campbell
River (email@example.com), and Comox (firstname.lastname@example.org) in the north, to Victoria in the South. We do connect
with each other and pass along information - especially on social
gatherings and workshops. Check out the "Communities"
listings in XtraWest* for groups
in your area. Also, check out the MSN Communities
and Yahoo Groups (such as http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gayfamily1 or http://email@example.com) on the internet.
Suggestions or comments as to how we can improve this page/site are always welcome, as are those concerning services offered by G.A.Y.S. ............ (03-12-24)
